THE MOTHERS' UNION

THANKSGIVING SERVICE The Mothers' Union in the Diocese of Waikato recently held its thanksgiving service in connection with the diamond jubilee. In London during the same week a thanksgiving service was held in St. Paul's Cathedral, the Archbishop of Canterbury preaching the sermon. Copies of the form of service had been sent from London and supplied to all local members. The cathedral, Hamilton, was well filled with communicant members from Waikato and Taranaki, who were glad of the opportunity of joining themselves with fellow members throughout the world in offering their thanksgiving for the work and progress of the Mothers' Union for 60 years. The Rev. R. G. Coats, vicar of St. Luke's Church, Mount Albert, was the celebrant and also gave an address suited to the occasion, the whole service being most inspiring. The dignity and beauty of the cathedral created the appropriate atmosphere for a service which will-live long in the memories of those who were. privileged to be present.
