COURTESY IN TRAMCARS
Sir, —I have recently concluded a tour of the Dominion, and one fact that has greatly impressed me has been the appalling manners of Auckland men while travelling in buses and trams. On several occasions I have noticed ladies standing while the men calmly sit and look on. Not one has ever offered to give up his seat. This fact impressed me particularly in Auckland, as it presents a striking contrast to other centres in the Dominion. Surely it is up to the people of this beautiful city to try and remedy this deplorable state of affairs. H.T.R.
