VALUES TEND HIGHER

The more hopeful view of the wool outlook was reflected in an improvement in pastoral shares. Commonwealth bonds were firmer. The gold mining market was lifeless. Sales included:—•

TASMANIAN PAPER-MAKING

Associated Pulp and Paper .Mills, Limited, Australia, announces that a contract has been signed for the supply of a paper machine for the company's mill at Jiurnie, Tasmania, to produce 15,000 tons of fine printings, writings and typewriting papers a year. A contract has also neon let for the design and layout of the whole plant, the supervision of the calling for tenders of the machinery to ho provided by other manufacturers, and for assistance in the erection and assembly of the plant.
