LARGELY-INCREASED STAFF RESULT OF BETTER TIMES [by telegraph—press association*] DUNEDIX, Thursday In an interview to-day the Post-master-General. the Hon, F. Jones, said that there were many applicants for positions with the Post and Telegraph Department in anticipation 0! staff increases as a result of improving conditions since December. These conditions, he said, had enabled 587 promotions to be made,' and had allowed the department to give employment to about 400 outside applicants. Further staff increases, he added, might be anticipated.
