MEHRINGER BEATS WOODS DECISION ON PENALTY FALL [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday In the best and fastest wrestling match in Cbristchurch this season Pete Mehringer (United States) beat Joe Kopach Woods (United States), after a penalty fall against Woods, in the sixth round of a professional contest to-night. Mehringer weighed lost. 61b. and Woods 15st. 3lb. Each man had gained one fall previously, Woods in the second round with a yokehold and body press, and Mehringer in the fifth with a body press after flying tackles. The penalty fall was given against Woods for elbow jolts after ho had been warned not to continue them. Mehringer looked as though he would not' have been able to continue the boufc.
