UNLAWFULLY IN HOUSE
TWO MAORI FOOTBALLERS SIX WEEKS' IMPRISONMENT [llV TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] DARGAVILLE, Friday A charge of being found without lawful excuse, but in circumstances that did not disclose the intention to commit any other offence, in tho house of Lilian Sarah Hampton, at Kaihu, on Juno 3, was preferred against Mihaka Panapa, aged 2.'}, tho Northern Wairoa and North Auckland representative, Rugby footballer, who appeared before Messrs. L. M. Lane and .1. N. M(.'Carroll, J.P.'s. Another Maori and junior representative footballer, George 11 aliui, aged 20, was similarly charged. Accused were also charged with tho theft of three berets, valued at 4s 6d, tho property of Mrs. Hampton. They pleaded guilty to both charges. Sergeant F. Culloty said accused loft a parly at about midnight and went to Mis. Hampton's bouse, which was temporarily unoccupied, and went to bed. When accused left the house they took with them three berets, which were recovered in Panapa's'house. Accused were each sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment at Auckland on the first cnarge. On the second count they were convicted and discharged.
