NEW FIRST GRADE CLUB ADMITTANCE OF MANUKAU GOOD FINANCIAL POSITION The management committee of the Auckland Rugby Leaguo decided last evening, after a good deal of discussion, to admit tho Manukau Club's senior team to first grade status. The chairman, Mr. G. Grey Campbell, said he had every x'oason to believe that the club would field a side well worthy of the highest status, as, among others, it had acquired prominent players from outside the province. The admission of Manukau would make eight teams in tho first grade and thus obviate a bye in the competition. The Now Zealand Rugby Leaguo wrote congratulating tho Auckland League on its splendid financial position. The balancesheet submitted was a credit to the controlling body, said Mr. Campbell. A request from tho Tarnnnki League for a representative game early in the season was deferred until the programme of fixtures was being considered. Mr. R. Doble, delegate to the New Zealand League, reported that the question of the replacement of players under the laws of the game as played in England would be discussed at the annual meeting to be held on Saturday. A request from tho Seddon Memorial Technical College for the use of Carlaw Park between the hours of 1 and 3.30 p.m. on several days during each week was referred to the chairman with power to act. Tho New Zealand League advised that the transfers of G. and W. Tittleton and R. White from South Auckland had been confirmed. Other transfers were approved as follows:—R. Middleton. Newton to Ponsonby.; G. A. Kerr, Newton to Devonport; A. O. Porteous, Newton to City; "\V. Cuff, Mount Albert to Newton. The Ponsonby Club advised that R. Bright and L. Hutt, both representative players, had been granted a transfer to Newton. The following registrations were approved:—W. Barlow, T. Allen (City), S. J. Davis, N. L. Parris R. L. Haslam, R. Aro, J. Anderson (Mariet). Applications for reinstatement made by A. Porteous and L. L. Knock were approved. The abuse of special official passes to Carlaw Park was discussed at some length, and it was decided that holders of such would not be permitted to enter by tho players' gate.
