WAITEMATA COUNTY ROADS
Sir, —Kindly permit me to express my compliments to the members of the Waitemata County Council and their engineer for the splendid condition I found all their subsidised and by-roads in whilst recently journeying by motor from Devonport through the districts of Albany, Silverdale, Orewa, Waiwera. Wainui Valley, Kaukapakapa and Helensville, returning to Devonport from Helensville, via Huapai-Riverhead, etc.. covering altogether approximately 120 miles. This was the first time I had ever travelled through the districts mentioned, and I must say that I was simply astonished at the wonderful condition all the roads were in. May T also mention that their employees seemed to be taking an interest in their work, and not on any occasion during the journey did 1 notice one man idling his time away. In conclusion. I think the council and all concerned are deserving of the highest commendation. Ratepayer.
