LADY TENNIS STAR

! MRS. WILLS-MOODY IN FORM j Mrs. Helen Wills-Moody, the great- ; est lady tennis star the world has produced, is at present practising for future tournaments and has vastly improved upon her last year's VVimhlodon form. Howard Kinsey, former American Davis Cup member and professional at the California Tennis Club, where Mrs. Moody practices almost daily, is of the opinion that she is greater than in 1931. "It is amazing how she has increased the speed of her drive and gained such accuracy at the same time. I cannot see anyone on the tennis horizon who can hope to cope with her."

Mrs.. Moody also thinks she is hitting the ball harder and that she has regained the agility she formerly displayed in routing all opponents. "I am more satisfied with my game now than at any time last year," she confessed. "It is more dependable." In spite of the fact that Mrs. Moody has gained all the honours in lawn tennis, she is probably the most conscientious of trainers among the stars, including men as well as women. Even now, with the tournaments still a long way ahead, she observes a rigid diet and physical routine. She always limbers up before practice, and, when she has completed two or three hard sots against men opponents, she finishes her training by chasing her Sealyham around the courts. Mrs. Moody has made no definite plans for her 1936 campaign, but she means to play in two or three of the larger tournaments. She is likely to enter for the Wimbledon, French and United States championship, but -.will probably compete only in two of these three major events.
