RACEHORSE KILLED

INJURY TO RIDER While being schooled at Avondalo yesterday, the six-year-old gelding British Columbia fell and was killed. The rider. Hector Maria, aged 16, son of the owner, Mr. W. H. Maria, of Kaitaia, was thrown and received concussion. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance, but his condition is not serious. The horse was to have competed in the Hobsonville Hurdles at Avondale to-day.
