Sunday The Taranaki amateur golf championship commenced yesterday on the Ngamotu course, which is to be the venue of the New Zealand championships. The weather was pet-feet and the course played well. A. E. Conway, with two fine rounds of 72, headed the qualifiers easily. The surprises were the failure of Leo Quin and H. P. Dale to qualify.
