SHORTER WORKING HOURS

• - Sir, —The Hon. T. Bloodworth's ideal of a 40 hours working week is an ideal one in theory, but is it a practicable one? I ain sure Mr. Bloodwortk will agree that such a concession should not be confined to any particular class or classes, and that workers on the land should bo as well treated as those in the urban areas. He has evidently given a good deal of thought to the subject, so perhaps he will enlighten us regarding his proposals to overcoma what, to many, seem insuperable difficulties in the granting of the boon to workers on the land. W.M.
