NO INFORMATION FOR JURY JUDGE'S VIEW EXPRESSED [FROM OfR OWN" CORRESPONDENT] HAMILTON, Thursday When the jury had returned a verdict of guilty in connection with a burglary charge in the Hamilton Supreme Court to-day, the Crown Solicitor, Mr. H. T. Gillies, suggested that the jnrv might like to know the history of th<* prisoner. The foreman of the jury also said that the jury would like some information on the point. Mr. Justice Callan said be was not in a position to give the information. He added that he knew nothing about the past of persons who came ' before the Court, and refrained from inquiring during trials lest an unfavourable knowledge should cause him to take ft wrong view of the evidence. In the case before the Court he knew nothing whatever about the prisoner at that stage.
