CYCLE OUT OF CONTROL

TWO SISTERS HURT ONE TAKEN TO HOSPITAL Two young girls, the daughters of Mr. Richard Trust, of Takanini, were injured at Mellon's Bay, Howick, yesterday afternoon, when they lost control of the bicycle they were riding. Margaret Trust, aged 9, suffered severe facial injuries, and had several teeth knocked out. She was attended to by Dr. J. J. Valentino, of Papatoetoe, and then taken to the Auckland Hospital. Jean Trust, aged 14, suffered slight concussion and shock, and was taken to her grandmother's house at Mellon's Bay, where the girls have been spending their school holidays.

The accident happened shortly after two o'clock, when the girls were riding toward Mellon's Bay. Jean Trust, who was pedalling, lost control at the approach to the beach, where the grade is very steep, and the bicycle ran to the bottom of the hill and through a muddy creek, striking tho bank on the opposite side. Margaret Trust had already fallen oft' the bicycle, and her sister was thrown over the handle-bars.

Mrs. Ambrose Trust, the girls' grandmother, who is 83 years of age, seriously injured her left arm through a fall on Saturday evening. She was attended by Dr. Valentine.
