BAY OF PLENTY ACTIVITIES
A dance was held in Waimana in aid of the local tennis club's funds recently. Visitors" were present from Opotiki, Whakatane, Taneatua and the surrounding districts. Competition waltzes were won by Miss R. Spanhake, partnered by Mr. C. Menges, and Miss J. Bell and Mr. H. Armstrong. Supper was provided by a ladies' committee. Those present included:—Mrs. Spanhake, Mrs. Bell, Mrs. H. Bell. Mrs. I). Wardlaw, Mrs. Fleming, Mrs. T. Wardlaw, Mrs. C. Bell, Mrs. Woolfield, Mrs. Burnett, Miss J. Neilson, Miss M. Grover, Miss M. Fleming, Miss S. Grover, Miss M. Wardlaw, Miss E. Fleming, Miss M. Woolfield, Miss I. McGill, Miss M. Finn, Miss B. Black, Miss V. Skippiiigton, Miss P. Wilson, Miss A. Burnett, Miss M. Johnson, Miss C. Sprattley, Miss J. Bell, Miss R. Spanhake, Miss G. Sykes, Miss J. Spring, Miss M. Howat, Miss G. Spab, Miss A. McKandry, Miss B. Bell, Miss G. Spanhake, Miss M. Wilson, Miss L. Francis', Miss D. Grace, Miss M. Grover and Miss A. Sutton.
Mrs. Ross, of Hastings, is staying with Mr. and Mrs. Jorram, Nukuhou <North.
Mrs. T. Francis and her daughter, Miss T. Francis, of Auckland, formerly of Whakatane, are spending the holidays at Te Puke, as the guests of Mrs. E. Kamson.
Miss Sybil Stuart, of Auckland, who has been spending a holiday at Ohope Beach with Miss Alexander, is now a guest of Mrs. Alexander, Taneatua.
Mrs. Tattersfield, of Auckland, accompanied by her husband, is on a visit to Whakatane. Mrs. H. Mullany, of Palmerston North, is visiting Whakatane with her family.
