ANNIVERSARY REGATTA

RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED INCREASE IN SAILING CRAFT Entries for the Auckland Anniversary Regatta, to bo hold on Wednesday, .January '2ft. closed last evening. The total entries for the regatta are 26], comprised of 224 from yachts and .'57 from power craft. Compared with last year's regatta the entries show an increase of 21 in the sailing races and a decrease of nine in the powerboat events. Further entries have still to come in for the race for midgets and seine net fishing boats. In the race for class V ISft boats, no fewer than 25 entries have been received. Twenty-nine boats have been accounted for in the race for class Z. 12ft Gin boats, and 22 in the race for class Y, 14ft boats. The entries for the keel yacht races compare favourably with tiiose for tho 1935 regatta and include the new A class boata Tawora and Waiomo, arid tho new B class keelers Tainui and Rambler, and several new C class yachts. In addition to the usual entries for the Jellicoo 14ft boats and Z class 12ft, Gin boats, nominations have also been received on behalf of the yachts taking part in the Sanders Cornwell Cup contests.
