BREACH AT WHAKATANE [BY TKLKGIIAI'H —OWN courkspondknt] WHAKATANE. Friday A breach of the building by-laws resulted in the appearance of G. S. Whiteside, civil engineer, in the Magistrate's Court at Whalcatano. It was stated that defendant had been given a permit to erect extensions to a dwelling in McAlister Street, but had not kept to the plans which had been approved by the Whakntano Borough Council, having left a considerable space between tho old structure and what purported to be additions. Mr. E. 1,. Walton, S.M., said there had been a deliberate breach of the by-laws and imposed a fine of £2, with £3 costs.
