THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE HIGHER 'PRICES FOR BANKS Higher prices were paid for overseas bank shares'on tho Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, while some of the leading industrials also showed further improvement; Conditions were more active and the turnover increased. In the loan and agency group, Goldsbrough-Morts were done 9d higher at 33s 6d and Farmers' Auctioneering A preference added 3d in a transfer at 22s 9d. Gains of 3d each were made in sales of Bycrofts at 53s 3d and Electrolytic Zinc preference at 39s Gd. Kauri Timbers were transferred 2d higher at 23s Gd and. Farmers' Fertiliser Id higher at 20s Id. In the first business this year, Northern Roller Mills lost 2s at 335. British Tobaccos and Broken Hills also had sale at lower prices. Other business passed at current rates.
