SNOW IN BRITAIN
LARGE AREA COVERED ROADS MADE DANGEROUS POLITICIAN MAROONED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received January 17, 7.5 p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY. Jan. 10 Snow fell over most of the country to-day and covers practically the whole of Britain north of a line from Cardiff to Lincoln. In many parts frozen snow made road conditions dangerous, electioneering in Ross and Cromarty, in the north of Scotland, being interfered with by the snow, and a snow-plough had to be sent yesterday to the rescue of one of the prospective candidates, who was cut off from fulfilling his engagements. Six inches of snow lies in the Welsh passes. The Mersey-side experienced the heaviest fall for years, and there is snow several inches deep in Liverpool. North Yorkshire was swept by a severe snowstorm.
Sr.ow also fell in London to-day, but it has already thawed.
