Jan. 15 One of the most serious accidents in the history of American commercial aviation occurred near Goodwin, Arkansas, last night. According to reports published in the New York Times 14 passengers and three members of the crew of an American Air Lines aeroplane were instantly killed when the craft crashed in a swamp. A few minutes before the accident radio reports from the aeroplane had declared that all was well as the flying weather was favourable. It is reported that the crash was due to the loss of one of the propellers.
