AIR MAIL FOR DOMINION
DESPATCH FROM SYDNEY FREIGHTER AND TANKER Air mail despatched from London on December 29 has been shipped from Australia bv the cargo steamer Karetu, which left Sydney for Bluff shortly before noon on Tuesday, and by the Norwegian tanker John Knudsen, which cleared Sydney at 6.30 yesterday morning for Wellington. Tho Karetu has the South Island portion of the mail and the John Knudsen is carrying that consigned for the North. Favoured with good weather the Karetu should reach Bluff about Sunday, while the John Knudsen might be expected to reach Wellington on Monday. This mail, if landed in time to catch tho express, would reach Auckland on Tuesday. Australian mail is due at Auckland on Monday by the Monowai, which is to sail from Sydney to-morrow. English mail will also reach Auckland on Monday. It is on board the Renuiera, which left London 011 December 12, and is to arrive at Wellington on Sunday. In addition to these consignments English and American mail will arrive at Auckland on Monday by the Niagara from Vancouver.
