TRIBUTE TO INSECTS

MEMORIAL HALL NAMED ERADICATING PRICKLY PEAR A hall to the memory of small insects, after which it has been named, has been erected in Chinchilla, Queensland. This is the Cactoblastis Memorial Hall, which has been erected by grateful residents of the district iti memory of the remarkable work done by the tinv insects in eradicating the prickly pear from the districts. As a result of the introduction of the cactoblastis, millions of acres of land in Australia which previously were so overgrown with prickly pear as to he useless for grazing or other purposes, have been reclaimed.
