BOROUGH'S REQUIREMENTS [by TELEGRAPH—OWN" correspondent] HUXT'LY, "Wednesday At the invitation of the Hujtlv Borough Council, the Hon. W. L<* Martin, Minister of Agriculture, visited Huntly this afternoon. He was met by the Mayor, Mr. W. C. E. George, and members of the Borough Council. A tour of inspection was made over various areas in the borough and matters of importance were discussed, including the advisability of the ereo tion of a new 'railway station, a car* parking area, the water supply, j tli4 housing problem, and a grant , for tha Huntly Domain. Nothing definite wal done, but the Minister promised ta place the council's representations before the Ministers concerned on hii return to Wellington. VISIT TO HAMILTON WOMEN'S CONFERENCE OPENED [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, 'Wednesday The Hon. W. Lee Martin, .Minister of Agriculture, visited Hamilton today. After attending a meet; tz of the Central \\ aikato Electric-Power Board* of which he is a member, he mot tha directors of the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited. The Minister took part in flic official opening of the half-yearly conference of the Dominion executive of tlm Women's Division of > the Farmers' Union, after which he went to Huntly. At the meeting of the Power Board, of which* Mr. Martin has been ;i member since its inception !•"> years ago, the Minister said hf would probably have to resign and make way for someone who could give more lime to the business of the board than he could. Ho would advise the board <>n that point later, he added.
