Monks, chief secretary to the Royal Life Saving Society, has been received in Christchrireh. Mr. Monks was prominently connected with lifesaving from the inception of the movement. and lie and Mr. William Henrv, the founder, were chiefly responsible for its success. About oitrht years ago he succeeded Mr. Henry as secretary to the societv.
