BISHOP CHERRINGTON'S PLAN RAISING FUNDS FOR DIOCESE [from our own CORRESPONDENT J HAMILTON, Friday Speaking at the opening of a bazaar at St. George's Church, Frankton, Bishop Cherrington said that in February he would go to England with the express purpose of appealing on behalf of the six debt-burdened parishes in the Waikato diocese. He had written to 300 friends in Britain a-sking them to assist. Already £OO in cash had been received and other £lO had been promised. He was confident the burdens of debt could be removed by the end of 1936 Detailing the nature of the indebtedness, Bishop Cherrington said there was a debt of about £ISOO to be paid at St. George's, £7OO was distributed over four parishes, and £450 lay in another centre.
