YARDING AT HIKUTAIA The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports that at its fortnightly sale at Hikutaia 011 Wednesday, a full yarding of nil classes of cattle came forward. Dairy cattle, comprising mostly heifers, came forward in average numbers. The demand for quality cattle close to profit wa3 good, while poor-conditioned and late calvers were not so keenly sought. A heavy yarding of store cattle, with a fair proportion of cow and heifer beef was also entered. Competition for quality beef was keen, while medium quality also sold firmly. DEMAND AT TE AWAMUTU Tho New Zealand .Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports on its tri-weokly Te Awnmutu sale on Thursday as follows; Fat and store cattle were yarded in very heavy numbers. Several pens of bullocks were included, a part of the entry £>f which was comprised of a nice heavy lino of VM Shorthorn bullocks from tho New Zealand Government Waikeria Borstal Institution, which averaged £l2 18s. In the cow and heifer section some choice animals were yarded, but the. 'majority were medium to Kood quality fat cowa. Conditions were not quite so buoyant as at our previous sale, but a firm demand existed at Franktou values.
