THE WRITERS' CLUB

A paper on "Robert Burns," written by Mrs. Coutts, was read by Miss Eileen Johnston at the Writers' Club yesterday. The resume of the life and works of the great Scottish poet was listened to by a large gathering of members. The decorations in the room were entirely national and .a bust of Burns was on the luncheon table. Shortbread and oatcake were included in the fare. Mrs. Coutts was presented with a bouquet of Scottish thistles by Mrs. I. M. Cluett. Mrs. Richards sang several songs written by Burns. Mrs. Crump presided and thanked Mrs. Coutts for her interesting paper.
