WAIATA MAORI CHOIR
VISIT TO AUSTRALIA The Waiata Ma ori Choir, which recentlv went to Australia at the invitation of the Melbourne Old Pioneers' Association to take part in the final centenary celebrations, will return by the Marama on Monday morning. At the invitation of Princess To Puea. the party will go direct to the Ngaruawahia Pa after landing at Auckland to receive an official welcome before the members return to their various districts. The choir, which lias had a splendid reception throughout Australia, is composed of young Maoris, every large tribe being represented. After the centenary celebrations the choir remained as the guests of the Methodist Church. They have taken part in missionary functions and have given concerts in many cities in aid of charitable, educational and mission institutions. Their programmes received unstinted praise from the musical critics, and they were given receptions by numerous musical societies and clubs. The manager of the choir is the Hev. Tahupotiki Haddon.
