GIFT TO THE MAYOR

JAPANESE APPRECIATION A handsome gift in appreciation of the hospitality they had been accorded while in Auckland was received by the Mayor, Mr. Ernest Davis, yesterday from the two Japanese princes, Prince Fushimi and Prince Asaka, who are midshipmen on the Japanese training ships now in port. The gift, a silver cigarette case with a raised gold emblem typifying the cherry blossom was handed to Mr. Davis when he attended the At Homo on the flagship Asama yesterday afternoon and was accompanied by expressions of goodwill and appreciation of a very happy visit.
