BLUFF TO MELBOURNE
PASSENGER SERVICE DESIRE FOR RESUMPTION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] INVERCARGILL, Thursday "We cannot make too early a start in working for the resumption of the Bluff-Melbourne passenger service,' 1 said Mr. A. H. Aitken, in introducing the subject at a meeting of the Bluff Harbour Board to-day.
The chairman, Mr. W. A. Ott, said he agreed with Mr. Aitken's remarks. Me knew that the matter had been taken up in other quarters, and he felt that the board should ask the Otago and Lvttelton Harbour Boards for their support. It was decided that the board's emergency works committee should keep in touch with the Invercargill Chamber of Commerce in advocating the restoration of the service.
