THANKS TO JAPAN
Sir, —May I, through the columns of your paper, express a welcome to the crew of the Japanese cruisers now in port. I believe I am quite correct in saying I owe my life to the Japanese. While on my way to England to enlist for service, in the late war, the Reinuera, on which I was a passenger, was; in grave danger several times. We had a full ship and every passenger was on his way to do his bit for the motherland. The Japanese warships convoyed us through the perilous path from Teneriffe to Plymouth. The day after our arrival in London, our splendid captain, the late Captain Greenstreet, laughingly told us that the cargo was of far more value than we were. Thanking you. (Nurse) M. B. Caldebjk.
