POULTRY INDUSTRY
PROBLEMS OF PRODUCERS WHEAT-GROWERS* PROTECTION [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Thursday Problems connected with the marketing of poultry produce were discussed yesterday at a meeting of the Waikato District Council of the New Zealand Poultry Breeders' Federation. Delegates were present from the Hamilton East, Hamilton West, Morrinsville, Cambridge and Te Awamutu branches. A resolution was passed that the council viewed with concern the injustice caused to the poultry industry by the present method of applying protection to wheat-growers. It was decided to forward a remit to the Government requesting that the assistance of wheatgrowers should take the form of a bounty instead of a tariff. The election of officers resulted: — President, ]\lr. G. E. Clarke; Vice-presi-dent, Mr. E. B. Jones; secretary, Mr. A. R. Turmvald; treasurer, Mrs. J. Chitty; delegate to Dominion conference, Mr. A.
