INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM
ARRIVAL AT WELLINGTON TOUR OF THE DOMINION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Monday The Indian hockey team, which is to tour the Dominion, arrived to-day and was accorded a civic welcome by the Mayor, Mr. T. C A. Hislop, who made reference to tho friendly attitude of the Rugby and Association football authorities in agreeing to postpone their matches on June 1 to avoid clashing with the hockey match between the Indiains and a Wellington representative team. The president of the New Zealand Hockey Association, Mr. Goodman, also spoke, and tho manager of the team, Mr. B. Doctor, said that if tho visitgave an impetus to the game in Now Zealand its real object would be attained. They were more or less on a goodwill mission. The visitors wero entertained at morning tea by the Government at Parliament Buildings.
TEST MATCH IN AUCKLAND
FIXTURE MADK FOR JULY 20 Advice was received from the New Zealand Association at last evening'* meetingoosf s the executive of the Auckland Hockey Association that final arrangements had been made to static the third test match between NewZealand and the visiting Indian team at Eden Park on July 20. The executive decided to forward a suggestion to the New Zealand Association that arrangements bo made for the Indian team to play a match against a representative country team either at Thames or Pukekohe on Jtilv 22. It was decided to nominate Mr. A. Williams as referee for the third test match, and Messrs. H. Watts and E. Hewitt for Auckland's match against the Indian team.
