People jostled one another and plied friends with all sorts of questions. It was obvious that there were scores of philatelists among tho excited crowd. The postal authorities, who have extended the closing time for the mail until 10 o'clock to-morrow morning, state that so far it consists of 29,000 letters, including New Zealanders' and those "from Australian States. The New South Wales quota comprises 16,000. Some of the letters, bore stamps of greater value than was necessary. Some were literally smothered with stamps worth 20s.
