CUT FLOWERS TRADE
EXPANSION IN BRITAIN NEW MARKET ERECTED (Received May 13, G.o p.m.) British Wireless RUGBY, May 12 The new flower market at Spitalfields, which has been erected by the London corporation at a cost of £2,000,000, as an extension of the fruit and vegetable market, and is designed to meet the demand for cut flowers in the eastern districts of London, will be opened early in June. British trade in cut flowers has steadily increased since the war. and now is the largest of any country in the world. It amounts to £14,000,000 a year.
