DWELLING BURNED
HORSES IN DANGER NO WATER SUPPLY AVAILABLE While Mr. and Mrs. J„ Wray, of Takanini, were visiting the home of a neighbour on Sunday night their sixroomed residence in Valley Road was destroyed by fire. The house was owned by Mrs. C. McGregor, of Symonds Street, City. The fire was not noticed until the house was well alight. No water was available, so nothing could be done to save the dwelling, which had only recently been acquired by Mrs. McGregor. Buildings, at the rear of the house, including Mr. W. Clifton's trotting stables, which contained five horses, were not damaged, although anxiety was felt at the height of the fire, the horses being removed.
