VAGRANCY PROVED

TERM OF IMPRISONMENT Finality was reached yesterday in a criminal case which was the subject of an appeal after it had been heard in the Supreme Court last year. The prisoner was Raymond Trevor Child, who was found by night by a patrol in a telephone box at Grey Lynn, and was convicted by a jury of being a rogue and vagabond. Points of law that were referred to the Court of Appeal were decided against the prisoner. Yesterday Child came before Mr. Justice Reed for sentence. Mr. Skelton, on his behalf, ;»aid Child had several other convictions, but he understood they were for very petty offences. His Honor said there were several previous convictions, and they were not light ones. He would be sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour.
