REPAIRING FLOOD DAMAGE OKAIHAU-KAIKOHE LINE [I)V TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRKSPONDKNT j WHANGAREI, Friday After being closed since tho heavy floods of December 10, the portion of railway lino between Okaihau and Kaikohe, on tho Otiria-Okaihau branch line, is to bo reopened. Tho task of repairing, the track will be commenced shortly, works trains operating from both Okaihau and Kaikohe, and it is expected that the section will be clear within ten days from the commencement of the undertaking. Tho length of lino affected is nine miles. Very extensive damage was caused by the floods, tunnels in places collapsing. Rolling stock to tho valuo of about £3OOO is isolated at Okaihau, and is useless until the line is in a normal state of repair again.
