SPORTS GATHERINGS

PUKEOWARE MEETING

The seventh annual sports meeting at Fukeoware, Waiuku, will be held on January 26. The club has increased the prizemoney by £2O, the total being £9O. Axemen. runners and huntsmen are well catered for by the programme, which also includes a children's pony event and tests of skill for hacks and their riders. The children will be further catered for by Highland dancing competitions. Entries for the chopping events and the principal running events close on January 21 with the secretary, Mr. D. Lawton.

WAERENGA SPORTS FIXTURE Fifteen mounted events, five foot r&ces and a high jump contest are on the programme for the 15th annual sports meeting at Waerenga, Te Kauwhata, to be held on January 24. Entries for two trotting events close on Friday next
