BOWLING TITLES

DOMINION TOURNEY

RINKIi CHAMPIONSHIP SECTION PLAY STARTS TWO ROUNDS DECIDED CONDITIONS ACAIN TRICKY The tournament conducted by the INew Zealand Bowling Association was continued yesterday. Play was commenced in the section rounds of the full-rink championship. One hundred and sixty-lour teams entered and two games of 25 heads were completed. Six further games will be played in this division of the championship—two today, two on Monday and two on Tuesday.

The full rink is regarded as the major game of the sport. Besides requiring a large vr.riety of shots, it makes a demand ujon each side for a complete understanding of teamwork. It follows then that there must be a full knowledge of the temperament of each respective member to one another. The holcers of the championship, G. Dickson, l.«\- lied pa tli, H. E. Gibson and H. Wilson, of the Linwood Club, Christchurch, defended their title and played on the Hallyburton Johnstone green. This rink won both games.

Playing conditions were tricky. The greens ran fast and a gusty wind made accurate drawing difficult. It was evident that many prominent drawing players, occupying the position of ieads in their respective teams, were astray often in this department of the game lUany skips acclaimed their satisfaction with shot a yard away from the objective.

Following were results of tho day's play:—
