HUNUA GORGE PROPOSAL

Tho Otahuhu Borough Council decided on Thursday evening to contribute 40 guineas toward the cost of obtaining a comprehensive engineering report on tho possibilities of the Papakura township water sourro in Hunua Gorgo being developed to meet the needs of tho southern suburban local bodies. A report of a meeting of delegates hold at Papatoetoo was submitted. It stated that tho engineering report would cost not more than 125 guineas, and recommended that Otahuhu Borough Council find 40 guineas and tho Papatoetoo, Papakura and Manurewa Town Boards and tho Manuka ti County Council equal shares of the balance. The Mayor, Mr. H. T. Clements, said the costs had been apportioned on a population basis. The report was adopted.
