LONG TOW TO JAPAN

COMMENCEMENT TO-DAY The Japanese steamer Komata, with the Kainianawa in tow, will commence her voyage to Japan this afternoon. Both vessels were sold by the Union Company to Japanese shipbreakers, and the Komata has been overhauled for the long voyage. The Komata will be removed from her berth at King's Wharf at 9 a.m., to an anchorage in the stream, and the Kaimanawa will be brought alongside while the vowing gear is connected. The vessels will sail about 4 p.m. Both are manned by Japanese, the Komata having a full crow and the Kaimanawa a smaller complement.
