The number of building permit' issued by the • Whangarei Boroug" Council during the year 1931 was < > as compared with 77 for the preuot 13 year. Tho value of the work done uj 1934 was £2(3,219, as compared tntn £25,167 in 1933. The structures erected were chiefly residences, but there also a block of shops and offices ,n Bank Street.
