SUCCESSOR TO MR. D. FULTON

Having been acting-chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Limited, since the death of Mr. Dynes Fulton, on December 16, Mr. R. H. McKcnzie, of Mangatawhiri Valley, Pokeno, was elected chairman of the company at a meeting of directors to-day. He had held the position of deputy-chairman for several years.

Mr. F. E. Hughes, of Waharoa, was elected deputy-chairman in place of Mr. McKenzie. Mr. McKonzie was born in Auckland in 1869. He later lived in Taranaki and, while still a young man, came to the South Auckland district. In his younger days he was a prominent footballer, and represented both Auckland and Taranaki at Rugby. He was a member of the All Black team" which toured Australia in 1893, and is at present patron of the Mangatawhiri Rugby Football Club. He is also president of the Mangatawhiri Golf Club. For the past 33 years ho has lived on his present farm at Mangatawhiri Valley, which is widely known as one of the most productive farms in the district. It is stocked with an excellent herd of Holsteins and Jerseys.

Mr. McKenzie has devoted himself to tho study of dairying matters. He became a director of the New Zealand Dairy Association in 1914. When the association and the Waikato Dairy Company united, in 1919, and the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, was formed, Mr. McKenzie was returned with Mr. C. Motion and Mr. Dynes Fulton to represent the northern ward on the board of directors of the new company. He has held a seat on tho board continuously _ since that time, and became deputy-chairman when Mr. Fulton succeeded Mr. Motion as chairman of directors in 1925. Mr. F. E. Hughes has been a director of the company for 10 years. He has played a prominent part in public and sporting life in the le Aroha district, and is a director of several companies.
