STRUCK BY LIGHTNING
TWO PEOPLE KILLED ■ ■■.„ ,4 SHELTERING UNDER TREE SYDNEY, Jan. 4 Mr. Geoffrey Parkins, aged 38, and his nephew, William Keece, aged 12, were struck dead by lightning while they were sheltering under a tree during a violent storm-at Walgett, 476 miles north-north-west of Sydney. FIRE STATION BURNED AUSTRALIAN TOWNSHIP MELBOURNE, Jan. * Notwithstanding the foct that it was raining heavily at the timo the fire station at Creswick, a goldfiqlda township 85 miles north-west of Melbourne, was burned to the ground after having been struck by lightning* The -observation , tower also was destroyed. *
