DRAMA LEAGUE LECTURE

The art of stage lighting was comprehensively dealt with in a lecture given by Professor J. Shelley, of Canterbury' Colldge, at the Workers' Educational Association Hall last night. Tho lecture was one of the series in connection with the annual summer school of the British Drama League. In his address, which was largely technical, Professor Shelley explained at length how various technical difficulties could be overcome by producers handicapped by lack of special equipment. He stressed the importance of fully exploiting tho relation of colours and gave illustrations from his own experience in plays to show how ingenuity and imagination could triumph over material conditions.
