POLISH WOMAN DELEGATE
For the first time a place was given to a woman in the Polish Delegation which attended the League of Nations Assembly, states "Dawn." Mrs. Anna Paradowska-Szclagowska is a wellknown worker in the efforts made by Polish women for equal rights. Before the war she was one of the active pioneers of the women's movement in Poland, according to a report in The Vote. Since the war she has taken an active part in the work of the Political Club of progressive women. In 1928 she became an energetic supporter of the League of Women for social work and citizenship; she is a member of its Central Committee and chairman of the Section for Foreign Affairs.'
A specialist in financial and commercial problems, the delegate will hold a distinguished position in the history of the professional movement among Polish women. She is one of the very few women of any nationality to have attained a high position in the banking world. For many years she was a chief accountant and an Attorney in the Joint Agricultural i3ank of the Polish Estates. Later she was made a director of another bank. The Professional Association of the Polish banking trade appointed her as honorary member of the association—the only woman member. This fact alone proves her high competence in that special field.
