LULL AFTER BUSY PERIOD NEW YEAR RUSH PENDING After an exceptionally busy period (since the beginning of the week, telegraph operators at the Auckland post office experienced less, arduous conditions yesterday, when the traffic was little more than that of the average holiday period. The last of the Christmas messages received on Christmas Day was sent early yesterday morning, and the staff was then reduced to that usually engaged at holiday time.
