Sunday Mount Rnapehu has been veiled in mist for the greater part of thd weekend, and, owing to the bad visibility, it is not known whether the activity in the crater lake, which was manifest on Thursday and Friday, is continuing. On those days a dense column of steam was seen rising to a height of about 1000 ft Arrangements made for a party to climb the mountain to-day weje postponed on account of the unsuitable conditions. The activity of Ngauruhoe has not yet ceased entirely, and black and white vapour is still issuing in small quantities from the crater.
