RADIO PICTURES

OVERSEA HAPPENINGS PUBLICATION IN SYDNEY (Received October 17, 7.45 p.m.) SYDNEY. Oct. 17 Sydney newspapers to-day printed the first radio pictures of overseas events. / The Sydney Morning Herald displays the Australian airman Mr. J. Melrose sitting beside his racing aeroplane at Mildenhall. This is reproduced from a photograph taken in London yesterday and transmitted last night. The Sun this afternoon features an enlarged and startling picture of the assassination of King Alexander. It ' shows Colonel Piollet on horseback bringing his sabre down on to the neck of the assassin as he drops off the running board of the car and other gendarmes in the act of seizing him. Even the number of the car is plainly readable. This picture was lodged in London early to-day for transmission to Australia. .
